My Thoughts
I did not purchase this for my own hair, I originally purchased this product for the use of my sisters since they are relaxed and this products worked well for them. Almost out of my Aunt Jackie's In-control Conditioner, I decided to give this a try. When transitioning, This product was my holy grail, and even before transitioning. I went through a ton of this product during that time because it worked!!
My hair was freshly cleanse with apple cider vinegar and rinse and was ready for my moisturizing deep treatment, since I had done a protein treatment. I grabbed the tub, poured a potion into my mixing bowl and popped it into the microwave to get heated. Once it was done, I started applying it to my hair. The first thing I noticed is that it did not go on with much slip! it was very hard to apply to my hair, even thought it was in sections. This was shocking. What a difference?! By the time I was finished apply to my whole head, I had to take more out the tub which was not heated. Now I am worried about the results after washing this product out. I left it in for one hour and rinsed with lukewarm water and the sealed with cold water, after thoroughly rinsing the product out. Was I impressed? Not at all!! It felt it haven't done nothing much to my hair. It had some moisture but not as much I am used to feeling as I would get from my staple.
I sat there staring at the tub trying to figure out how come it does not work for me because it normally help during transitioning. I think this product gives better result on relaxed hair and transitioning hair some how. Or maybe its the fact that I added oils to it and it gave better result. Overall, Its a good product but you maybe have to add oils. Would I try again? Its a yes&no. Yes if I have no other choice and its the only thing at home, but I would add oils. And No I would not repurchased this again for my personal use. Other than its thick consistency and nice smell, there is not much to like about it.
I will be reviewing my thoughts on apple cider vinegar and what protein treatment I used on that day in another blog post. So look out for an update soon!
So until my next post
