HOMEMADE AVOCADO HAIR TREATMENTS

I love the idea of researching and making my own hair recipes. It's both fun and nourishing for my hair, and saves me money. The avocado deep conditioner is my favorite out of all. For me personally, I use this treatment once or twice a week, when i feel to break from the store bought deep conditioners. I can easily access this fruit because there is a tree in my backyard. But you can buy it at any local grocery store or at the market. It can be used weekly or bi-weekly as a deep conditioner or even as a pree-poo.

The benefits of this fruit are to add shine, luster and promote growth. When I use this treatment, it leave my hair extremely soft, shiny and my curls stand out. This nourishing fruit is great for all hair types, and even relaxed, texlaxed or transitioning. Now let me share my recipes with you!

Avocado and Extra Virgin Olive Oil
This is one of the simplest recipes and easy to make. All you need is:
  • 1 or half of an Avocado (Ripe)
  • 2-3 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Place them in  blender or mash with fork. You can warm this mixture in the microwave for 30 seconds and saturate your hair, apply plastic bag and let it sit for a hour. co wash or shampoo after.

Avocado - Aloe Vera  Juice & Pumpkin Mix
I call this one Ultra Moisturizing because of the aloe juice. This leaves my hair incredibly soft and shiny. The pumpkin is great source of vitamin A and which is also great for your scalp. These three key ingredients promotes growth and health maintenance to your tresses. All you need is:
  • 1or half of an Avocado (Ripe)
  • 3-4 Tbsp Aloe vera Juice (Natural)
  • Several pieces of BOILED Pumpkin
This mixture I blend for a creamy consistency. After blending, ensure that your strain the mixture into your mixing bowl to remove chunk that could get stuck into the hair. You can heat this in the microwave for 30 second, apply to hair and leave for an hour with a processing cap. cowash or shampoo and condition after.

Avocado-Oil-Molasses
Molasses is another great treat for your hair. It promotes strength and reduce shedding. I use it this treatment as a pree-poo because the molasses is rather sticky so you will need to shampoo this treatment out. All you need is:
  • 1 or half of an Avocado
  • 2tbsp extra virgin Olive Oil
  • 2tbsp Coconut Oil (natural/organic/extra virgin)
  • 1tsp Molasses
Blend/ mash with fork and leave on for one hour. After shampooing, follow up with a moisturizing conditioner.

Avocado-Banana-Coconut Milk-
This is a super nourishing treatment which is rich with moisture and protein from the coconut milk. You can also use the coconut cream/milk alone, as long as its natural/organic! I use this treatment once every six weeks as a pree-poo, since I am protein sensitive. This is one of my many protein treatments and it is super effective. All you need is:
  • 1 or half  of an Avocado
  • 1 ripe Banana
  • 1 or half can of Coconut cream/milk
You can leave this on for 30 minutes to and hour, depending on how well you hair responds to protein. shampoo and follow up with moisturizing deep conditioner

All these are nourishing and affordable. You can even alter them to your liking or to the length of your hair. Feel free to ask any questions in the comment section, and I will reply as soon as I can.

Until next time
love Kellz
